Okay okay, I know this is old hat in the blogosphere but hey, I finally tried it so I thought I would throw in my two cents. A few nights ago I saw my fruit bowl and noticed an avocado sitting next to a banana… the wheels began to turn. I pulled out my cuisinart and threw in a banana, avocado, cocoa powder, and sugar. It was okay. Not insanely out of the world good, but decent. So tonight I decided to take another stab at it. I think I have the recipe that works for my taste buds.
Chocolate Avocado Banana Pudding
Ingredients
2 bananas
1 avocado
1/2 cup almond milk
4 Tablespoons cocoa powder
1 packet chocolate AmazingMeal
2 Tablespoons sugar
10-15 cherries (fresh)
Directions
Add all ingredients to your food processor and blend. Then keep blending. Blend until it’s fluffy – it’ll get there. Feel free to sample, it’s tasty, but wait to eat it. Spoon into little bowls and stick in the fridge. After 30 minutes or so it’ll be fluffy, thick, and cool.
You could certainly make it with just cocoa powder, I just enjoy that I was able to add the AmazingMeal and a little bit of a nutritional boost.
Now, next time I’ll probably try frozen cherries since they’re already depitted (depitted? without pits? can I make it up like that?). I wonder if the frozen cherries will blend well enough, or if they’ll stay as chunks. I bet either would be tasty, and you could probably skip the part where you put the pudding in the fridge for a bit. Hmm… things to try…
Looks good to me! My husband is really funny though because he can’t stomach the idea of adding an avacado to pudding or smoothies. Funny boy! haha!
Ahh, my husband easily falls into the same category. He has actually tried a green smoothie, but most of the time I cook for myself… unless it’s a baked product, then he’s totally on board to try it.
I love your blog btw 🙂
